Tribhuvan University (TU), established in 1959, is the first and the largest higher education institution in Nepal. There are sixty two constituent campuses under this university. Out of them, the University Campus (UC) is the leading and renowned campus of TU. Most of the Central Departments, Departments and programs related to different faculties and institutes are located within the premises of this campus. Besides, TU Research Centers, Dean Offices, Exam Control Office, Central Library, Health Center, TU Press etc are also located within the campus complex. Therefore, it is known as the national hub for teaching, research and knowledge enterprise in the country. Furthermore, TU is making a plan and program for transforming UC as a Center of Academic Excellence (CoAE).
