Established in 1959, Nepal's leading and oldest public institution for higher education, Tribhuvan University (TU) offers graduate (Master, MPhil, and PhD) and undergraduate (Bachelor) programs in four faculties and five institutes with 7,966 professors and 7,230 support staff, in records of 2021/22. Through teaching, research and scholarship, the world's largest university in terms of number of students, with 4,60,632 students in total, has been preparing the top-level experts and specialists, technocrats and bureaucrats, teachers and professors, leaders and politicians, and ultimately ideal citizens with a high level civic sense and cultural awareness.
At this point, University Campus of TU is transforming into the Center of Academic Excellence to meet needs and expectations of highly competent human resources and cultured citizens, capable to render services to global communities. At the same time, the University Campus envisions to produce competent, constructive, and innovative citizens of the world to meet demands in the job market home and abroad, and national and international communities, imparting inclusively equitable and quality education to all citizens. Also, the Office of the Principal aims at equipping students with advanced skills and innovative knowledge with wisdom through which learners inculcate in them noble values, including love, service, and compassion. To accomplish these ends, thirty-two central departments, three departments and seven programs, under the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences (FoHSS), Management (FoM), and Education (FoE) are in operation. Besides, some of the institutes, including Institute of Science and Technology (IoST), Forestry (IoF), and Agriculture and Animal Sciences (IoAAS) have been operating their programs in the TU Campus. Similarly, Faculty of Law (FoL), Institute of Engineering (IoE) and Institute of Medicine (IoM) have been running their academic programs in their own infrastructures outside the university premise.
The Office of the Principal is responsible for the coordination of administrative and academic programs in the TU Campus in accordance with the University rules and regulations. The TU Campus is fully committed to improve the quality of education with resources available.
